We hope you are enjoying your retirement. The Eastern Kentucky University Retirees Association (EKURA) is gearing up for another year of interesting programs and travel. We would love to have you join us!

Meetings are scheduled every other month - with tours and trips scheduled during alternate months.

Volunteer Hours

The KRTA asks us to report our members' volunteer hours for the
calendar year on our annual report. 

We will be collecting that information at the Christmas luncheon.  Please make a list of all the volunteer hours you have worked during this calendar year and bring it with you. 

KRTA Telephone Campaign Re: Legislature Providing Funding for the KTRS

Kentucky Retired Teachers' Association Executive Director Bob Wagner
has sent all local Retired Teachers' Associations a letter in regard
to a KRTA members telephone campaign to Governor Beshear's office
letting him know that the legislature needs to step up the state's
contribution to the KTRS system. 

Morrow Receives Scholarship for Third Year

The EKURA Scholarship committee has renewed Sarah Morrow's scholarship for a third year.  Sarah is a senior majoring in special education and has worked in the Training Recource Center to help pay her college expenses.  An Ohio native, she has volunteered with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, mentoring elementary school children.  She has also tutored special ne

EKURA 2012-2013 Meetings and Trips Schedule

All regular meetings and programs will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Gillum’s in the Richmond Mall.  EKURA members and guests are encouraged to arrive early and order lunch before the speakers are introduced.

EKURA Donate Cell Phones

EKURA Donate Cell Phones

The EKURA donated a large number of cell phones to 911 Cell Phone Bank at its June 20th meeting. Cell phones were then taken to the office of Madison County Sheriff Nelson O'Donnell to benefit violence victims and seniors.
